How COME-In Works

Leaders representing departments or other programs in the mathematical and statistical sciences join the COME-In community based on their demonstrated commitment to creating equitable and inclusive spaces. We aim to recruit a new cohort of members annually.

COME-In provides a community in which participants from different institutions celebrate each other's successes, help each other stay accountable and on-track, and brainstorm solutions to challenges. We provide a variety of resources to support these transformational journeys.

Transformational change doesn't have to fix everything all at once. Some small changes can make a big difference and can build momentum toward further change. COME-In helps leaders identify those initial changes that are doable and consequential and that et the stage for a path for broader transformation.

Getting Started

Each COME-In cohort begins with an in-person or online training and professional development workshop for Department Leads and their partner Consultants. Additional workshops are held regularly throughout the year.

Form a Team

A COME-In Department Lead forms a team of local stakeholders to support their change project. Each Department Lead is paired with a trained external Consultant as a transformation partner.

Learn from Data

COME-In teams collect and interpret quantitative and qualitative data to help them understand their challenges and opportunities for growth.

Planning and Implementation

Teams develop actionable short, medium, and long-term SMART Goals based on data, implement action plans, and assess their progress.
