Leaders representing departments or other programs in the mathematical and statistical sciences join the COME-In community based on their demonstrated commitment to creating equitable and inclusive spaces. We aim to recruit a new cohort of members annually.
COME-In provides a community in which participants from different institutions celebrate each other's successes, help each other stay accountable and on-track, and brainstorm solutions to challenges. We provide a variety of resources to support these transformational journeys.
Transformational change doesn't have to fix everything all at once. Some small changes can make a big difference and can build momentum toward further change. COME-In helps leaders identify those initial changes that are doable and consequential and that set the stage for a path for broader transformation.
Each COME-In cohort begins with an in-person or online training and professional development workshop for Department Leads and Transformation Partners. Additional events are held virtually throughout the year.
A COME-In Department Lead forms a team of local stakeholders to support their transformation project. Each Department Lead is paired with a trained external Transformation Partner as a consultant throughout the transformation project.
COME-In teams collect and interpret local quantitative and qualitative data to help them understand their challenges and opportunities for growth.
Teams develop actionable short, medium, and long-term SMART Goals based on data, implement strategic projects, , and assess their progress.
This webinar provided an overview of the COME-In process and tools, as well as information on how to become part of the COME-In community.
