Transforming Mathematics Departments for Equity and Inclusion
A conference for changemakers using the COME-In Framework
Online May 27 - 29, 2026
What would it take to transform your department or program into an inclusive space where everyone can experience the joy of doing mathematics?
At the conference, you will
Engage with the COME-In community of changemakers
Take a deep-dive into the COME-In process and tools
Hear about the experiences of departments at 2-year and 4-year colleges, minority-serving institutions, and R1 and R2 universities across the country with the COME-In framework
Explore best practices for understanding local challenges and developing strategies for change
Access a variety of resources to support your transformational journey
Learn about evidence-based best practices for transformation toward equity and inclusion
Cultivate next steps for your departments change process
Learn about other opportunities to become part of the COME-In community
A foundational part of the COME-In framework is a partnership between a Department Lead and a trained Transformation Partner, who work together throughout the transformation process. Whether you are interested in leading a transformation team in your department or program or serving as a partner-consultant to a team at another institution, or if you’re just eager to learn more about the process, we welcome you to join us.
Conference participants will have the opportunity to apply to be Department Leads or Transformation Partners following the conference.
Conference registration fee: $500 by April 30, 2026, $650 after that. Multiple people from the same academic department are covered under one fee.
